About Dr. Hidalgo

Eduardo Jose Hidalgo was born in Peru in the coastal town of Trujillo. From 7 years old, he woke up every morning at 4 am to sell the popular newspaper in the streets. In Lima, as a preteen, he lived in the houses of the well-heeled as servant. He labored on to support his family and invest in his future.
By his teenage years, Eduardo had become an excellent student.  Never able to afford textbooks, he relied on the opening hours of public libraries.  With four brothers in a one room apartment, Eduardo spent many nights outside under a street lamp studying his notes.

Doctor landed an internship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, did a residency at Carney Hospital, Boston, and started a family. He served as doctor at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, earning him U.S. Army Major.  He won fellowships in Michigan at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit then University Hospital in Ann Arbor.
The specialist left the NE for Broward.  In Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, on A1A, he found a sunny place to start a practice.

Our History

Ocean Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale Florida
our original location

In 1976, Doctor and Patricia created this clinic at the Ocean Medical Center, a curiously shaped round building just up the road from our present location. Patricia managed. Kathy Trombino medically assisted.
In 1985, Kathy passed the baton to her Stetson-returning sister Veronica.  In 1994, the team designed a new office on the second floor of the Galt Ocean Marketplace. The clinic now serves twenty patients a day.  Many daily are familiar from those original days or live in other parts of the world but are happy to have Doctor here in Florida.
